BET: Eema, why don't we have a sister?
EEMA:
EEMA: [um, what birds and bees?]
EEMA: [I'm guessing "because day 5 blasts are more likely to be boys" is not what you're looking for?]
EEMA: [oh, sweetie. you have no idea.]

um. good luck with that.
direct questions suck.
i get a lot of wishful thinking, "but I want a baby," etc., which is somehow easier to deflect.
I was totally that kid. On behalf of 25-years-from-now Bet: "I'm sorry, Eema. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
very nice dramatic post, but it neednt be that dramatic. theyre only 2.85 yrs old... when my 3.5 yr old talks about sisters and brothers all I say is that HaShem (G-d) has given us boys so far and one day I hope He'll give us girls. I dont tell him how he was conceived, of corurse, but he is well aware that he was born after many years. He does not recall a life prior to his (9 month old) brother...

Wait. I missed the forest for the trees. was your point that theyre asking for a sibling and youre not ready to try again (incidentally, are you going to try again?) or the fact that your bees&Birds reply is not theh standard?
Geez, Mindy. Tone down the snottiness a bit, eh?
emma, what snottiness? i wasnt snotty. i misudnerstood her post.
"very nice dramatic post, but it needn't be that dramatic." drips with condescension to the untrained eye like mine.
